Job summary

Advocate Health is seeking a Lactation Consultant in Kenosha, WI, a casual/part-time position requiring 36 hours of availability per a 6-week schedule. Qualifications

• Registered Nurse license issued by the state where you practice.
• IBLCE Lactation Consultant certification to be obtained within 1 year.

Responsibilities

• Assesses patient’s needs, diagnoses lactation problems, plans and implements intervention, and evaluates outcomes.
• Visits breastfeeding mothers while hospitalized and/or calls post-discharge to assess learning needs and provide lactation support.
• Provides outpatient care and consultation for families with breastfeeding difficulties and/or newborn follow-up.
• Develops and manages outpatient lactation services and/or phone support; may include breast pump rental or retail store.
• Leads breastfeeding education and staff training; identifies learning needs and delivers in-services.
