The role includes education, consultation with physicians, and leading lactation initiatives to improve patient outcomes.

The ideal candidate holds an RN license, CLC certification, and 2 years of labor and delivery experience, with IBCLC attainment targeted within two years.

Formación

• Registered Nurse license in the state of practice.
• Lactation Consultant certification (CLC) required; IBCLC within 2 years.
• Associate's Degree in Nursing.
• 2 years of professional nursing experience in a labor and delivery setting.

Responsabilidades

• Assess lactation needs, diagnose problems, plan interventions, and evaluate outcomes.
• Provide inpatient lactation care and post-discharge follow-up or home visits as needed.
• Lead outpatient lactation services, including phone support and breast pump guidance.
• Educate staff on breastfeeding best practices and provide in-services.
• Maintain accurate documentation and generate required reports.
