Job summary

Children’s Wisconsin is seeking a Lactation Consultant to join the Lactation Service. The role provides advanced lactation care, assessments, education, and resource linkage for breastfeeding families, and works with the care team to promote successful breastfeeding outcomes.

The position requires a BSN, an active RN license, and 2+ years in maternal/child settings, with strong communication and clinical expertise. This on-site role includes collaboration with nursing and medical staff.

Qualifications

• BSN degree required and RN license
• Minimum 2+ years in maternal/child, pediatric or NICU settings
• Knowledge of ILCIA guidelines and lactation best practices

Responsibilities

• Provide lactation consultation with advanced clinical expertise
• Collaborate with healthcare team to support breastfeeding initiation and continuation
• Document care plans and orders in the electronic health record
• Educate staff and families on breastfeeding support and resources
