Job summary

ProHealth Care in Wisconsin is seeking a dedicated Lactation Counselor to support new mothers in both inpatient and outpatient settings, providing breastfeeding education, support, and care. Responsibilities include triaging breastfeeding calls, coordinating breast pump rentals/sales, and fitting nursing bras, along with presenting prenatal breastfeeding classes.

The ideal candidate holds a CLC credential with plan to pursue IBCLC, BLS certification, and preferably IBCLC qualification.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent.
• Certified Lactation Counselor (CLC) with plan to take IBCLC exam.
• Basic Life support (BLS) from the American Heart Association.
• Preferred – International Board Certified Lactation Consultant (IBCLC).

Responsibilities

• Provide breastfeeding support to mothers in inpatient and outpatient settings.
• Provide breastfeeding education, support and care.
• Manage telephone triage of breastfeeding calls.
• Rent/sell breast pumps and fit/sell nursing bras.
• Present prenatal breastfeeding classes.
