Job summary

Advocate Health is seeking a Lactation Consultant in Kenosha, WI for a casual, part-time role. The position requires 36 hours of availability per 6-week schedule, with shifts and duties centered on lactation support for patients in hospital and outpatient settings.

The candidate will assess needs, provide education, and collaborate with physicians and staff to promote successful breastfeeding outcomes. Qualifications include an RN license with active Wisconsin registration and IBCLC

Qualifications

• Proficient computer skills including keyboarding, navigation within a Windows OS, email and EMR systems.
• Excellent written and verbal communication and interpersonal skills.
• Ability to develop rapport and maintain professional relationships with patients, staff and physicians.

Responsibilities

• Assess patient needs, diagnose lactation problems, plan and implement interventions and evaluate outcomes.
• Visit breastfeeding mothers in hospital or via telephone post-discharge to assess learning needs and provide lactation support.
• Provide outpatient care and consultation for families with breastfeeding difficulties and newborn follow-up.
