The Idaho Bureau of Laboratories, part of the Idaho Department of Health and Welfare, is hiring a full-time Laboratory Technician in Boise. Qualifications

• Good knowledge of laboratory terminology, equipment, materials, and procedures, and the fundamental laboratory methods relating to chemistry or biology.
• Experience performing standardized laboratory tests according to prescribed procedures.
• Experience calculating and recording test results.
• Experience maintaining a clean, sterile, and safe laboratory environment.

Responsibilities

• Receive and verify laboratory samples and supplies; collect, label, and document specimens.
• Deliver specimens to the appropriate programs within the laboratory.
• Perform daily temperature and calibration checks on laboratory devices to ensure accuracy.
• Peer-review submission data to ensure there are no transcription errors.
• Assist testing staff by preparing microbiology media as requested and support a dynamic workflow with a teammate.
