Job summary

Labcorp in RTP, NC is seeking a Specimen Processor to join our laboratory team. You will prepare specimens, label and route samples, and ensure accurate data entry to support efficient testing workflows.

The role requires a High School diploma or GED, with 3+ months of specimen processing or medical/lab experience preferred. We value attention to detail and the ability to work in a fast-paced production environment.

Labcorp is seeking a Specimen Processor to join our team in RTP, NC .

Work Schedule: Tuesday-Friday 4:00am to 12:30pm, Saturday 8:30am to 5:00pm.

Job Responsibilities

• Prepare laboratory specimens for analysis and testing
• Unpack and route specimens to their respective staging areas
• Accurately identify and label specimens
• Pack and ship specimens to proper testing facilities
• Meet department activity and production goals
• Properly prepare and store excess specimen samples
• Data entry of patient information in an accurate and timely manner
• Resolve and document any problem specimens

Minimum Qualifications

• High School Diploma or GED

Preferred Qualifications

• 3 months or more of specimen processing experience
• 3 months or more of medical or laboratory experience

Additional Job Standards

• Comfortability with handling biological specimens
• Ability to accurately identify specimens
• Basic computer knowledge and data entry skills
• Ability to work independently and within a team environment
• High level of attention to detail with the ability to prioritize and multitask
• Ability to work in a fast paced production environment and meet established turn-around times
• Strong communication skills; both written and verbal
• Ability to handle the physical requirements of the position
• Able to pass a standardized color blindness test
• Flexibility to work overtime or other shifts depending on business needs
