Job summary

Labcorp seeks a Specimen Processor I to join our Winston Salem, NC team. Work schedule: Mon-Fri, 5:30 pm–2:00 am with overtime as needed. Responsibilities include preparing, sorting, labeling, and shipping specimens, and accurate data entry in a high-throughput setting.

Minimum qualifications include a High School diploma or GED. Preferred candidates have 1+ year in labs or related fields and strong organizational skills. Benefits include comprehensive coverage and 401(k).

Labcorp is seeking a Specimen Processor I to join our team in Winston Salem, NC

Work Schedule: Monday-Friday, 5:30 pm- 2:00 am, with OT as needed

Job Responsibilities:

• Prepare laboratory specimens for analysis and testing

• Unpack and route specimens to their respective staging areas

• Accurately identify and label specimens

• Pack and ship specimens to proper testing facilities

• Meet department activity and production goals

• Properly prepare and store excess specimen samples

• Data entry of patient information in an accurate and timely manner

• Resolve and document any problem specimens

Minimum Qualifications:

• High School diploma or GED or equivalent

Preferred Qualifications:

• 1 year or more experience (lab, accessioning, production, manufacturing or warehouse environment)

• 1 year of medical or production experience

Additional Job Standards:

• Comfortable handling biological specimens

• Ability to accurately identify specimens

• Experience working in a team environment

• Strong data entry and organizational skills

• High level of attention to detail

• Proficient in MS Office

• Able to lift up to 40lbs.

• Able to pass a standardized color blindness test

The Specimen Processor will be responsible for performing clinical specimen accessioning, sample sorting and data entry in a fast-paced, high-throughput environment according to established standard operating procedures.

Employees who are regularly scheduled to work a 7 on/7 off schedule are eligible to receive all the foregoing benefits except PTO or FTO.
