Job summary

TriCore Reference Laboratories in Clovis, NM is seeking a Laboratory Scientist to perform waived to high complexity tests under CLIA. The role includes maintenance of equipment, QA/QC and documentation, with responsibilities across multiple testing modalities.

This PRN position requires flexibility for nights, weekends and on-call duties, offering exposure to a broad range of assays and opportunities to contribute to patient care in a high-quality laboratory setting.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in biological, or chemical science from an accredited institution (or equivalent options described).
• Two years’ direct clinical laboratory experience may be required for higher levels.
• CLIA qualifications determine LS I–IV placement; no experience required for LS I.
• ASCP/AMT-type certifications preferred for advanced levels.

Responsibilities

• Performs waived, moderate or high complexity laboratory tests for diagnosis and treatment.
• Maintains and troubleshoots laboratory equipment and interfaces.
• Runs quality control testing to ensure equipment functionality before patient testing.
• Assists with training of new staff and students.
• Participates in regulatory inspections and documentation.
• Orders supplies and participates in QA data collection and trend monitoring.
