Qualifications

• Requires specific core science coursework (chemistry, biology) or equivalent.
• No prior experience required for Laboratory Scientist I.

Responsibilities

• Perform waived, moderate or high complexity laboratory tests for diagnosis.
• Operate and maintain laboratory equipment and QC procedures.
• Document QC data and assist with regulatory inspections.
• Train staff and assist with POCT oversight where applicable.
• Interact with internal/external customers and support specimen collection.

Education

Bachelor’s degree in biological, or chemical science

Associate’s degree in laboratory science (biology or chemistry) or medical laboratory technology

Education and training equivalent to an associate degree in a laboratory science with 60 semester hours plus core courses
