Job summary

Firelands Health is seeking a Laboratory Technical Supervisor to provide technical and scientific oversight across the general laboratory, microbiology, and point-of-care services. The role supports the Medical Director with transfusion medicine oversight and ensures reliable day-to-day operation of the department, including phlebotomy and outreach services.

Reporting to the Director of Laboratory Services, you will collaborate with medical staff, nursing, and leadership to maintain quality

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in a chemical, physical, or biological science or medical technology required.
• 4+ years of general lab experience in high complexity testing required.
• 3–5 years of hospital supervisory experience preferred.

Responsibilities

• Coordinate daily operations with the Laboratory Director to manage problems and action items.
• Ensure testing methods and performance specifications are maintained and validated.
• Oversee quality control, proficiency testing, and staff competency assessments.
• Assist with accreditation readiness (CAP, HFAP, OSHA, CMS, AABB) and instrument maintenance.
• Provide education and leadership to lab staff and support outreach sites.
