Job summary

OhioHealth is seeking a Laboratory Services Supervisor to oversee departmental operations in the Core Lab, directing technical operations and staff. This role emphasizes quality, safety and customer service in a hospital laboratory environment.

Responsibilities include coordinating with the division manager, maintaining regulatory compliance (CAP/CLIA/ASC), and driving process improvements, training, and performance management for technical and support staff.

Qualifications

• Associate's Degree required.
• ASCP or equivalent certification within two years of hire.
• Three years of experience in a patient care or clinical laboratory setting.

Responsibilities

• Supervises and directs departmental technical operations and human resources.
• Act as interdepartmental liaison resolving problems with other departments.
• Investigates specimen problems, service complaints and delays in procedures.
• Develops, evaluates and implements new procedures to improve function and cost‑effectiveness.
• Assures regulatory standards CAP, CLIA, ASC p are met within the area.
• Provides staff training, schedules in-services and ongoing education.
• Promotes employee development, coaching and positive inter‑employee relations.
• May perform responsibilities of Med Techs and Lab Specialists as site requires.
• Performs other duties as assigned.
