Job summary

Firelands Health in Sandusky, OH seeks a Laboratory Technical Supervisor to provide technical and scientific oversight of the general laboratory, microbiology, and point-of-care services. You will support the Medical Director and ensure reliable day-to-day operations, including phlebotomy, anatomic pathology, and outreach services across sites.

You will collaborate with clinicians, nursing and lab leadership to maintain high quality patient care, lead staff development, coordinate testing

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in a chemical, physical, or biological science or medical technology required.
• Three to five years’ supervisory hospital experience preferred.
• MLS/MLT certification required.
• Current CPR/BLS preferred.

Responsibilities

• Coordinate daily operations with the Director and manage problem responses and corrective actions.
• Ensure testing methods are maintained and performance specifications are verified.
• Oversee QA activities, staff development, and competency assessments.
• Maintain lab policies, procedures, and safety standards; ensure proper supplies and cleanliness.
• Review results and proficiency testing; support capital budget planning with leads.
