Job summary

Sanford Health in Park Falls, WI seeks a laboratory leader to oversee pre-analytic, analytic and post-analytic testing stages across the laboratory operations. You will guide day-to-day activities, ensure safety, quality, and regulatory compliance, and collaborate with other departments.

The role includes supervising staff, managing quality initiatives, and potentially acting as CLIA Director, Technical Supervisor, or Technical Consultant as needed.

Qualifications

• Associate degree in laboratory or biological sciences required.
• Bachelor’s degree preferred.
• Two Years Of Laboratory Related Experience Required.
• National laboratory certification or lab specialty certification through an approved Health and Human Services agency (e.g., ASCP); or registry eligible.
• If working in North Dakota and not a cytotechnologist or histotechnologist, licensed or provisional license by ND Board of Clinical Laboratory Practice.

Responsibilities

• Responsible for pre-analytical, analytical, and post-analytical phases of testing.
• Provides leadership during day-to-day laboratory operations.
• Manages validations, proficiency testing, evaluation and quality assurance initiatives.
• Interviews and hires new staff; may interview, hire, counsel, discipline, and terminate employees as needed.
• Develops and monitors indicators for quality and continuous improvement; manages HR, budget and planning as needed.
• Provides professional and technical expertise and ensures compliance with regulatory standards.

Education

Associate degree in laboratory or biological sciences

Bachelor’s degree preferred

Two Years Of Laboratory Related Experience Required

National laboratory certification or lab specialty certification (e.g., ASCP)

ND license or provisional license if ND (cytotech/histotech exception)

Continuing education credits for license, BLS may be required
