Job summary

Sanford Health is seeking a laboratory leader to oversee pre-analytic, analytic, and post-analytic phases of testing, ensuring safety, quality, and regulatory compliance across the enterprise.

The role includes directing day-to-day laboratory operations, supervising staff, and managing performance indicators, budgets, and audits. May serve as CLIA Director or Technical Consultant as needed and travel to other enterprise locations.

Qualifications

• Associate degree in laboratory or biological sciences required.
• Two years of laboratory related experience required.
• National laboratory certification or AHHS (e.g., ASCP) eligibility or registry.
• North Dakota license requirements if applicable.
• Continuing education credits to maintain license/certifications; BLS may be required.

Responsibilities

• Lead day-to-day operations of the laboratory or department.
• Provide leadership to technical staff and act as a resource across the enterprise.
• Manage validations, proficiency testing, quality assurance and performance initiatives.
• Oversee staffing, budgeting, and regulatory compliance.
• May serve as CLIA role (Laboratory Director/Technical Supervisor/Technical Consultant) and travel to other sites.
