Job summary

Allegheny Health Network seeks a Laboratory Operations Manager to oversee lab performance, staffing, and quality assurance. Responsibilities include budgeting, HR policy implementation, and ensuring compliance with HIPAA and safety standards.

The role may also cover Technologist duties as needed, including outreach programs and process improvement initiatives to enhance staff productivity while maintaining cost efficiency.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in ASCP eligible program or equivalent combination of education and experience.
• 5 years in a clinical laboratory role.
• ASCP certifications: Cytology CT, Cytogenetics CG, Histology HTL/HT, PA, MLS/MT/MLS in Clinical Pathology if applicable.

Responsibilities

• Provides leadership to staff to ensure quality patient care and compliance.
• Oversees development/revision of procedures and signs written procedures yearly.
• Manages hiring, evaluation, coaching, promotion, discipline and discharge per HR policies.
• Prepares and maintains budgets with cost-efficiency focus.
• Pursues modern technologies to enhance staff productivity and quality.
• Oversees laboratory outreach program and may function as Technologist as needed.

Education

Bachelor’s degree ASCP eligible program or equivalent
