Job summary

Allegheny Health Network in Pittsburgh is seeking a laboratory support professional to perform routine and complex procedures under the guidance of a medical technologist. You will verify analytic quality, operate instrumentation, and ensure accurate test ordering and reporting in a fast-paced, high-volume environment.

The role requires a Bachelor's in biology, chemistry, physical or clinical laboratory science, with preferred clinical laboratory experience.

Qualifications

Bachelor's degree in biology, chemical, physical or clinical laboratory science.
Experience in clinical laboratory preferred.
Licenses or certifications: None.

Responsibilities

Performs a variety of routine and complex procedures using established criteria to provide quality clinical information.
Verifies analytic accuracy, precision, sensitivity, and linearity for test methods.
Operates, calibrates, checks, maintains instrumentation and communicates issues to a certified medical technologist.
Performs test order entry accurately and efficiently to ensure proper testing and charges of patient accounts.
Participates in medical technology learning models or technical development modules to ensure growth and development of the laboratory.
Provides support such as answering telephones, faxing reports and reporting stat and critical value results.
Performs other duties as assigned or required.
