Job summary

Wellstar Health System is seeking a Laboratory Manager to lead a designated laboratory department, including phlebotomy, staffing, operations, and regulatory adherence. This role reports to the Administrative Director of Laboratory Services and requires significant leadership and regulatory expertise.

Responsibilities include scheduling, performance monitoring, budget involvement, and ensuring CAP/CLIA/TJC/FDA/OSHA compliance.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Medical Science.
• MLS(ASCP) - Medical Laboratory Scientist or MT(AMT) - Medical Technologist or RN with applicable licensure.
• Minimum 8 years clinical experience with at least 2 years in a supervisory role.
• Knowledge of CAP, CLIA, TJC, FDA and OSHA requirements.

Responsibilities

• Supervise laboratory staff and oversee staffing and schedules.
• Ensure compliance with regulatory standards and accreditation processes.
• Monitor budgets and assist in annual operating and capital expenditures.
• Coordinate proficiency testing and quality improvement activities.
• Lead performance improvement initiatives and coordinate with hospital leadership.
