AdventHealth in Fruitland Park, FL is seeking a Laboratory Supervisor to lead daily lab operations and drive quality initiatives. The role requires oversight of testing procedures, staff training, and ensuring regulatory compliance within a dynamic hospital setting.

The position emphasizes teamwork, patient safety, and continuous improvement, with responsibilities spanning pre-analytical activities, test interpretation, and coordination with clinical staff.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in chemical, biological, clinical or medical laboratory science or medical technology from an accredited institution.
• 24 semester hours of medical laboratory technology or 24 semester hours in science with required chemistry/biology coursework and a CLIA-approved training path.

Responsibilities

• Leads and participates in laboratory performance improvement activities, promoting team building, employee engagement, patient satisfaction, and safety.
• Manages quality assessment, oversight, problem solving, scheduling, staff performance input, training and competency evaluations.
• Performs pre-analytical activities related to laboratory testing including equipment maintenance, documentation, inventory control, specimen collection, processing, QC and calibration.
• Participates in lab and hospital Performance Improvement activities.
• Interprets complex test results and supports education for staff as needed.
