University of Maryland Faculty Physicians, Inc. is seeking a Laboratory Practice Representative Trainee-Pathology to perform front desk tasks, phlebotomy, and patient registration in an ambulatory laboratory setting in Baltimore, MD.

You will collect demographic and insurance data, verify information, and support scheduling and pre-visit activities. The role requires completion of a phlebotomy program and a high school diploma, with knowledge of billing systems and payer requirements.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or GED preferred.
• Completion of an accredited program in Phlebotomy
• Previous medical office experience is a plus
• General understanding and application of basic accounting principles
• Current knowledge of payer requirements for referrals and pre-authorization
• Knowledge of computerized billing system

Responsibilities

• Demonstrates knowledge of FPI practices and payer contracts.
• Manages provider schedules and scheduling appointments accurately and effectively.
• Collects co-payments and outstanding balances; posts in GE Front Desk Credit Card Module.
• Assists in revenue cycle related to patient encounters and demographic/insurance info.
• Observes FPI policies and promotes positive guest relations.
• Confirms all written orders on requisitions match specimen labels.
