Job summary

AdventHealth in Riverview, FL is seeking a Phlebotomy/Medical Laboratory Assistant to support specimen collection, processing and lab operations. The role includes phlebotomy, specimen handling, and adherence to safety and regulatory guidelines.

The candidate should have phlebotomy training, strong English communication, and excellent customer service skills. This position is based on-site in Florida with day shifts and hospital-based responsibilities.

Qualifications

• Able to communicate effectively in English with patients, staff and customers.
• Phlebotomy skills and blood collection responsibilities.
• Follows safety policies and PPE usage.

Responsibilities

• May perform cytopreparatory staining and accessions surgical cases with knowledge of anatomy.
• May receive and set up primary specimen cultures and inoculate petri dishes.
• May clean and disinfect lab equipment and spaces and maintain inventory.
• Participates in performance improvement activities and evaluates new equipment.
• Provides resolution to customer service issues within guidelines and supports education to clinical staff.
