Job summary

AdventHealth in Florida is seeking a Phlebotomy Technician for night shifts to support laboratory operations. The role includes blood collection, specimen processing, quality control, and general lab duties within a hospital setting.

The candidate will handle blood samples, operate laboratory information systems, and assist in patient care while maintaining safety and compliance standards. Prior phlebotomy experience and good English communication are preferred.

Qualifications

• High School Grad or Equivalent [Required]
• Technical/Vocational School [Preferred]
• 1+ year of experience in AdventHealth Lab [Preferred]
• 1+ year of relevant healthcare experience [Required]
• Additional licensure or certification requirements may apply depending on unit/state

Responsibilities

• May perform point of care testing, and associated, quality control, maintenance, troubleshooting, documentation and result reporting.
• Performs various support activities to facilitate operation of assigned department, including answering the telephone, clerical and receptionist duties.
• May perform blood specimen collection, including phlebotomy and skin puncture for all age groups.
• Receives, processes, and transports patient specimens, including centrifugation and aliquoting sample types.
• May train new staff and students, acting as a preceptor when assigned.
• Provides resolution to customer service issues within guidelines and support education to clinical staff.
