Job summary

Quest Diagnostics in San Juan Capistrano, CA is seeking a Laboratory Admin to support multi-department operations, Monday–Friday, 10:00 AM–6:00 PM. This role coordinates client requests, performs data entry, and assists with reagent management to ensure timely responses.

The ideal candidate has 1–3 years in office or laboratory settings, strong MS Office skills, and solid organizational abilities. Training and opportunities for advancement are offered within a collaborative team.

Qualifications

• 1-3 years of office/laboratory experience.
• Background in biological sciences preferred.
• Ability to sit and/or stand for long periods.
• Regular Client Services training to stay proficient.
• Knowledge of the laboratory environment and sample processing.

Responsibilities

• Coordinate, route, and answer client requests to lab staff; respond via calls or emails.
• Provide appropriate responses to callers using a professional telephone presence.
• Data entry and reagent storage handling; signing for reagents on delivery.
• Address problems through data gathering and lab problem-solving.
• Pull samples for studies and assist with test additions from lab services.
• Monthly tally of assays; report to Director/Dept Head.
• Maintain/up-to-date laboratory libraries and organize pertinent papers.
• Clerical purchasing for assigned departments and document filing.
• Answer phones for multiple departments as needed.
