Job summary

NYC Health + Hospitals seeks an Associate Counsel for its Central Labor Relations Department in New York. The successful candidate will represent the health system in arbitration proceedings, fact-finding hearings, and matters before the Office of Collective Bargaining.

The role requires NY Bar admission and a mix of legal experience in litigation or labor relations, with additional managerial responsibilities to supervise the Labor Relations AWOL and Time and Attendance Unit and to train staff

Qualifications

• Active membership in the New York State Bar.
• 3 years of legal experience post-admission in litigation, labor relations, or corporate law.
• 2 years of legal experience post-admission plus 2 years of progressively responsible professional or managerial experience.

Responsibilities

• Represent NYC Health + Hospitals in arbitration proceedings and fact-finding hearings.
• Provide advice on labor relations and negotiate settlements.
• Supervise the Labor Relations AWOL and Time and Attendance Unit and train employees on labor relations practices.
