Job summary

Jobot is seeking an Associate for its Labor and Employment practice in Washington, DC. You will represent employers in litigation and provide counseling on day‑to‑day employment issues, with early hands‑on litigation exposure and client‑facing advisory work.

The role combines courtroom practice with strategic guidance, offering meaningful responsibility and collaboration with management teams on compliance and risk mitigation.

Qualifications

• 2 to 5 years of labor and employment or general litigation experience.
• Licensed to practice law and in good standing in the jurisdiction you will practice.
• Excellent writing, research, and analytical skills.
• Strong communication skills with the ability to interact directly with clients.
• Ability to manage multiple matters and meet deadlines.
• Detail‑oriented with strong organizational skills.
• Ability to work both independently and collaboratively.

Responsibilities

• Represent employers in employment‑related litigation and administrative proceedings
• Draft pleadings, motions, briefs, and other legal documents
• Conduct legal research and analyze complex employment law issues
• Manage discovery, including document review, written discovery, and depositions
• Participate in hearings, mediations, and dispute resolution processes
• Advise clients on employment‑related issues, including workplace policies and employee relations
• Assist with compliance guidance and risk assessment related to employment laws
• Collaborate with attorneys on litigation strategy and case development
