Job summary

Northwestern Medicine seeks a Labor & Delivery Tech for part-time day shifts to assist non-critically ill patients under the supervision of the Registered Nurse. The role supports patient care, safety, and education in a fast-paced Labor & Delivery unit.

Responsibilities include vital signs, basic nursing care, and maintaining a clean, safe environment. Requirements include High School diploma and BLS certification; preferred: L&D or surgical technician experience.

Qualifications

• High School Graduate or equivalent.
• Certified BLS (Basic Life Support) certification required.
• Preferred: Labor & Deliver or surgical technician experience.

Responsibilities

• Assists patients with activities of daily living under RN supervision.
• Performs basic nursing care for non-critically ill patients.
• Maintains safety and cleanliness of patient rooms and environment.
• Collects specimens and assists with specimen labeling and transport.
• Demonstrates infection control practices and proper body mechanics.
• Communicates changes in patient status promptly to the RN.
• Assists with admissions, transfers, and discharges as needed.
