Job summary

Northwestern Medicine seeks a Labor & Delivery Technician to join our night-shift team. You will assist patients with daily living activities, provide basic nursing care under the supervision of the RN, and help maintain a safe, clean environment on the unit.

Requirements include a High School diploma or equivalent and Certified BLS. Preference is given to candidates with Labor & Delivery or surgical technician experience. The role emphasizes teamwork and adherence to unit policies.

Qualifications

• Labor & Deliver or surgical technician experience preferred.

Responsibilities

• Assists patients with activities of daily living and provides basic nursing care under RN supervision.
• Maintains patient rooms in a clean and neat manner and ensures a safe environment.
• Reinforces teaching previously taught by the RN and communicates patient status changes.
• Assists with patient admission, ambulation, positioning, and discharge/transfer coordination.
• Performs duties within L&D technician scope of practice and handles equipment safely.
