Job summary

OhioHealth in Columbus is seeking a Surgical Technologist to prepare the OR, deliver instruments, and assist the surgeon intraoperatively. You will maintain sterile technique, assist with draping and positioning, and help with specimen handling and post-procedure setup.

The role requires scrub experience, a CAAHEP-accredited program, and BLS; opportunities to mentor new staff and contribute to unit operations are available. This is a full-time day shift in Labor and Delivery Unit 1.

Qualifications

• Completion of OhioHealth OR ST Fellowship or graduation from an accredited surgical technologist school.
• BLS certification preferred; ability to scrub and assist in multiple service lines.
• Strong critical thinking and rapid decision-making in the OR.

Responsibilities

• Prepare for surgical cases by obtaining supplies, equipment and instruments.
• Establish and maintain a sterile field; assist second assistant as needed.
• Assist with positioning, draping, and exposure; handle specimens and castings.
• Help with post-procedure cleaning, restocking and equipment checks.
• Mentor new associates and support unit operations for efficiency.
