Job summary

University Hospitals is seeking a Surgical Technologist for Labor and Delivery on the day shift. The role focuses on maintaining sterile technique, assisting the surgical team, and ensuring instruments and supplies are ready for procedures.

Responsibilities include patient care in scrub, assisting with operative procedures, and supporting handoffs and PHI compliance. Benefits include a sign-on bonus, tuition reimbursement after six months, and free parking.

Qualifications

• Graduate from an accredited Surgical Technologist program (Required).
• Thorough knowledge of asepsis, instrumentation, suture and surgical procedures (Required).
• Ability to take direction and work in a team environment (Required).
• Ability to use a wide variety of technical equipment to meet patient care needs and prescribed medical therapies (Required).

Responsibilities

• Provide safe, efficient age-specific nursing care to patients/families using nursing interventions to attain/maintain health.
• Provide patient care in a primary scrub position.
• Assist with technical responsibilities in assigned operative procedures.
• Ensure instruments/supplies are present and in proper working condition.
• Provide labeled medications with correct doses on the sterile field.
• Support the operative team and follow patient care handoff protocol.
• Participate in quality improvement processes and personal development.
• Perform other duties as assigned.
