Job summary

OhioHealth seeks a Surgical Technologist to prepare the operating room, gather and deliver instruments, and support the surgeon during procedures. The role includes maintaining a sterile field and assisting with tissue handling, specimen labeling, and post-case cleanup.

Minimum qualifications include High School or GED and BLS; OHIOHealth fellowship or CAAHEP accreditation preferred. Experience or military training may be considered in lieu of formal education.

Qualifications

• High School or GED is required; BLS certification is required.
• Completion of OhioHealth OR ST Fellowship or graduation from a CAAHEP-accredited surgical technologist program is preferred.
• Equivalent military training or 10+ years of experience may be acceptable.

Responsibilities

• Prepare the OR for procedures and gather supplies and instruments; deliver instruments intraoperatively.
• Act as second assistant to the surgeon and maintain sterile technique throughout procedures.
• Assist with decontamination, room turnover, and proper handling of specimens and supplies.
• Participate in unit operations, mentor new personnel, and ensure compliance with competencies.
