Job summary

St. Vincent’s Medical Center in Connecticut seeks a Registered Nurse with labor and delivery experience to provide direct patient care on 12-hour shifts. You will act as the care coordinator for multidisciplinary teams and execute physician orders while supporting discharge planning and individualized patient care plans.

Qualifications include CT RN license, BSN preferred, and BLS certification. Prior cardiac/critical care or medical-surgical exposure is a plus.

Qualifications

• Must have labor and delivery experience.
• Graduate of an accredited nursing school.
• Associate degree required, BSN preferred.
• Current Connecticut RN license.
• BLS certification by the American Heart Association.
• Experience in cardiac care, critical care, or medical-surgical units a plus.

Responsibilities

• Implements and monitors patient care plans; communicates patient condition.
• Serves as primary coordinator of all disciplines for well-coordinated patient care.
• Notes and carries out physician and nursing orders.
• Assesses discharge planning needs with the healthcare team.
• Provides individualized care addressing physical, psychosocial, cultural and age-related needs.
• Delegates care to nursing staff to maximize performance.
• Participates in daily interdisciplinary patient rounds.
• Reflects ANA standards of nursing practice and ethics.
• Develops and revises individualized plans of care.
• Participates in activities for professional growth and development.
