Job summary

St. Vincent’s Medical Center in Bridgeport seeks an experienced Registered Nurse with labor and delivery expertise to provide direct patient care in alignment with hospital policies and obstetric protocols.

You will coordinate multidisciplinary care, implement orders, and support discharge planning while upholding ANA standards and patient-centered care within a Magnet-designated facility.

Qualifications

• Must have labor and delivery experience.
• Graduate of an accredited nursing program.
• Associate degree required; BSN preferred.
• Current Connecticut RN license.
• BLS certification by the American Heart Association.
• Two years of Medical-Surgical/Critical Care experience preferred.

Responsibilities

• Provides direct nursing care in accordance with established policies, procedures and protocols.
• Implements and monitors patient care plans; communicates patient condition as appropriate.
• Serves as primary coordinator of all disciplines for well-coordinated patient care.
• Notes and carries out physician and nursing orders.
• Assesses discharge planning needs with the healthcare team.
• Deliberately delegates care to nursing staff to maximize patient outcomes.
• Participates in daily interdisciplinary rounds and contributes to care planning.
