Job summary

St. Vincent’s Medical Center is seeking a Registered Nurse with labor and delivery experience to provide direct patient care in a high-acuity setting. You will follow established policies and collaborate with a multidisciplinary team to ensure safe, individualized patient care.

The role offers on-call shifts, comprehensive benefits, and opportunities for professional growth within Hartford HealthCare’s Magnet-designated system. Connecticut RN license and BLS are required.

Qualifications

• Must have labor and delivery experience.
• Graduate of an accredited nursing school.
• Associate degree required, BSN preferred.
• Current Connecticut RN license.
• BLS certification by the American Heart Association.
• Two years of Medical-Surgical/Critical Care experience preferred.

Responsibilities

• Provides direct nursing care in accordance with established policies, procedures and protocols.
• Implements and monitors patient care plans; communicates patient condition.
• Coordinates discharge planning with healthcare team.
• Assesses patients to provide individualized care addressing physical, psychosocial, cultural, spiritual and age-related needs.
• Delegates care to nursing staff to meet patient needs and optimize staff performance.
• Participates in daily interdisciplinary patient rounds and provides input for patient outcomes.
