Job summary

Actalent is seeking experienced OR Surgical Technicians to support a high-acuity Labor & Delivery unit in Portland, OR. This contract-to-hire role is ideal for candidates who thrive in a fast-paced environment and are passionate about safe, effective surgical care.

The position offers a day shift (7:00 AM–7:30 PM) in Portland, OR, with a 0.9 FTE schedule. Required qualifications include accredited surgical technology training, NBSTSA/JCAHPO/NCCT certification, and BLS.

Qualifications

• High School Diploma or GED required.
• Surgical technology program accredited by CAAHEP/ABHES with NBSTSA/JCAHPO/NCCT certification.
• Two years OR Surgical Technician experience.
• Hospital setting experience required.
• BLS certification required.
• Knowledge of aseptic technique and surgical instrumentation.
• Ability to work days, weekends, and holidays as needed.

Responsibilities

• Assist surgeons during C-sections and Labor & Delivery procedures.
• Maintain a sterile surgical field and aseptic technique.
• Pass instruments, sutures, and supplies during surgery.
• Prepare and organize surgical instruments and equipment.
• Collaborate with the OR team to ensure positive patient outcomes.
• Support patient safety and infection-control standards.
• Anticipate surgeon needs during procedures.
• Provide direct patient care within the surgical environment.
