Job summary

Renown Health is seeking a Surgical Technologist for Labor and Delivery to assist in the operating room and delivery suites, maintain sterility, pass instruments, and prepare equipment for procedures. You will support surgeons, anesthesiologists, and nursing staff while ensuring timely room turnover.

The role requires English proficiency, formal technologist training preferred, and BLS certification; CST preferred.

Qualifications

• Ability to read, write, speak, and understand English sufficiently to perform job duties safely and effectively.
• Formal technologist school program preferred. If no previous formal training, prerequisite classes of Anatomy & Physiology 1 & 2 and Microbiology, prior to hospital training class start date, preferred.
• Previous hospital/clinical experience preferred.
• 6 months experience as a Surgical Technologist preferred.
• Current BLS certification by The American Heart Association required.
• Certified Surgical Technologist is preferred.
• If uncertified, complete at least 15 hours of continuing education concerning the practice upon completion of first year of employment and annually thereafter.
• Must be proficient with Microsoft Office Suite (Outlook, PowerPoint, Excel, Teams, Word).

Responsibilities

• Maintain sterility of the surgical field and anticipate surgeons' needs during procedures.
• Pass instruments and supplies in a timely fashion.
• Assist in delivery room, stocking LDRs and OB/ED with supplies.
• Cross-trained to Unit Clerk to fill in as needed.
• Care for instrumentation for terminal cleaning and assist with room turnover.
• Report equipment issues and ensure equipment is functioning before procedures.
• Provide patient care of a technical nature under supervision of a licensed nurse.
