Talentify is seeking an experienced OR Surgical Technician to support a Labor & Delivery unit on a per diem basis in Portland, OR. The role involves maintaining sterile fields, assisting in obstetric procedures, and ensuring instrument readiness for fast-paced surgical care.

The position requires two years in sterile processing, CBSPD/HSPA certification, BLS, and flexibility to work days, weekends, and holidays in a hospital setting.

Qualificações

• Two years experience as a Sterile Processing Technician in an acute care center with primary responsibility for instrumentation processing and sterilization.
• National certification from CBSPD or HSPA (Healthcare Sterile Processing Association), formerly IAHCSMM, is required at time of hire.
• Experience in a hospital setting is required (internship/externship not sufficient).
• BLS certification (American Heart Association) required.
• High School Diploma or GED required.
• Knowledge of aseptic technique and surgical instrumentation.
• Ability to work days, weekends, and holidays as needed.

Responsabilidades

• Prepare and maintain a sterile field for surgical procedures.
• Assist the surgical team during obstetric procedures, including cesarean deliveries.
• Handle and pass surgical instruments accurately and efficiently.
• Ensure proper sterilization and functionality of all instruments and equipment.
• Anticipate the needs of the surgical team and respond promptly.
• Perform accurate counts of sponges, needles, and instruments.
• Support patient care activities under the direction of the RN when not in the OR.
• Collaborate with interdisciplinary teams, including nursing and pharmacy.
• Follow all infection control and safety protocols.
• Assist with triaging and urgent (STAT) support as needed.
