Job summary

Advocate Health is seeking a skilled Surgical Technologist to support operative procedures in a fast-paced environment. You will maintain a sterile field, assist with gowning and gloving, and help anticipate surgeon needs to ensure operating room efficiency.

The role requires expertise in multiple surgical specialties, strong customer service, and reliable teamwork within the OR setting.

Qualifications

• Completion of an accredited Surgical Technology program.
• Typically requires 2 years of experience as a Surgical Technologist.
• BLS for Healthcare Providers certification within 6 months.
• Proficient in all surgical specialties with expertise in at least two.

Responsibilities

• Provide for a clean, safe and efficient area conducive to optimal patient care using aseptic techniques.
• Assist in preparation and draping of the surgical area and provide a sterile field.
• Assist surgeons by passing instruments and supplies and supporting complex cases.
• Set up operating rooms, operate equipment, and move/return equipment post-procedure.
• Transport patients and equipment, maintain supply carts and report issues.
• Act as a resource and precept Surgical Technologists and participate in committees.
