Job summary

AdventHealth in Kansas is seeking an experienced RN to coordinate patient care across multiple departments, develop individualized care plans, and monitor progress to ensure high-quality outcomes.

You will oversee staffing for daily operations, guide nursing assistants, and educate patients and families about treatment plans. The role emphasizes collaboration with physicians and ensuring adherence to care standards.

Qualifications

• Must be able to use a high level of abstract reasoning to assess patient, evaluate interventions, and revise plan of care according to patient outcomes.
• Basic computer skills – navigate Microsoft Windows based programs.
• Supervision experience and skills.
• Maintains current nursing license and knowledge of care requirements.
• Identifies problems and implements solutions with follow-through.
• Participates in or chairs projects or committees.
• Communicates with patients/families through primary nurse request.
• Monitors educational activities of personnel to ensure compliance.
• Manages hours and staffing within budget.
• Leads department policies and procedures.
• Manages human resources and staffing.
• Performs performance appraisals and progressive discipline as needed.
• Recruitment and selection collaboration with HR.
• Effective staff communication and conflict resolution.
• Attends or leads codes and oversees scheduling.
• Represents AH mission positively.

Responsibilities

• Coordinate patient care across PACU, inpatient units, Radiology, and anesthesia.
• Develop and implement individualized care plans based on assessments and orders.
• Monitor progress, assess and update care plans as needed.
• Collaborate with physicians, anesthesiologists, and other providers to ensure coordinated care.
• Manage daily schedules and ensure staffing and equipment availability for endoscopy.
• Prioritize patient needs based on acuity and urgency.
• Serve as a resource for staff on procedures and equipment.
• Facilitate effective communication among healthcare team members.
• Supervise nursing assistants and support staff.
• Educate patients and families about care plans and health management.
• Respond promptly to emergencies and stabilize patients.
• Participate in quality improvement and ensure high standards of care.
• Perform other duties as assigned.
