Job summary

Permanent Placements LLC is assisting a Pacific Northwest law firm in Seattle seeking an experienced Labor & Employment Attorney with 6–12 years of experience to join the Labor, Employment & Immigration Practice Group.

The successful candidate will handle labor and employment litigation, counseling, and strategic advisory work for employers across diverse industries, with significant client contact and opportunities for leadership and business development.

Qualifications

  • J.D. from an accredited law school
  • Active membership in good standing with the Washington State Bar
  • 6-12 years of labor and employment law experience
  • Advice and counseling
  • Wage and hour matters
  • Anti-discrimination and harassment claims
  • Leave and accommodation issues
  • Strong legal research, writing, and analytical skills
  • Excellent communication and client service abilities
  • Ability to independently manage multiple complex matters
  • Strong organizational and case management skills
  • Demonstrated interest in business development and client relationship building

Responsibilities

  • Represent employers in labor and employment litigation matters, including single-plaintiff claims, class and collective actions, discrimination and harassment claims, wage and hour disputes, and leave and accommodation matters
  • Advise employers on day-to-day workplace issues and risk management strategies
  • Draft and review employment agreements, separation and settlement agreements, employee handbooks, disability accommodations, leave management, and employment law compliance documents
  • Manage litigation strategy, discovery, motion practice, mediations, and hearings
  • Develop and maintain strong client relationships through practical and responsive legal advice
  • Collaborate with attorneys across practice groups on complex matters
  • Participate in business development and client outreach initiatives
  • Mentor junior attorneys and contribute to team development

Depending on experience and business development capabilities, candidates may be considered at the Associate, Counsel, or senior-level leadership track.

Responsibilities
