Job summary

Intermountain HealthGood Samaritan Hospital in Lafayette, Colorado is seeking an experienced Lab Support Assistant to join a dynamic laboratory team. The role emphasizes specimen processing, phlebotomy, and performing diagnostic testing in clinical and pathology areas where allowed by regulation.

You will act as a resource and may lead trainings, assist with special projects, and contribute to continuous improvement while delivering compassionate patient care and collaboration with clinicians

Qualifications

• High School Diploma or equivalent is required.
• Demonstrated prior experience in clinical or pathology lab assistant role.

Responsibilities

• Advanced knowledge of EMR/LIS for orders, specimen handling, result queries and problem resolution.
• Conduct waived to moderately complex diagnostic testing across Chemistry, Hematology, Coagulation, Urinalysis, Microbiology, and Molecular Diagnostics.
• Provide clerical, administrative, and customer service support to the department and respond to inquiries.
• Communicate procedures empathetically with patients and families; deescalate when needed.
• Monitor supply inventory and assist in ordering as required.
• Train and orient new caregivers; assist in schedule management and shift coverage.
• Lead process improvement initiatives within the laboratory.
