Job summary

Abbott is hiring for an Incoming Lab supervisor at the Sturgis, Michigan site within the Nutrition division. You will oversee the receipt, sampling and testing of incoming materials, supervise technicians, and ensure compliance with GMP and QA procedures.

The role requires strong leadership, communication and problem-solving skills, with 2+ years in a regulated lab environment, and a background in MS Office. This is a 1st-shift position with multi-shift operations and vendor coordination.

Qualifications

• High School Diploma or GED required.
• 2+ years' laboratory experience in a regulated industry or equivalent.
• Demonstrated leadership skills.
• Proficient in MS Office.
• Good oral and written communication skills.
• Demonstrated problem-solving skills.
• Time management and prioritization abilities.

Responsibilities

• Oversee incoming materials testing for production use (raw ingredients and packaging).
• Supervise technicians to ensure timely receipt, sampling and testing of materials.
• Ensure training of new hires per manual and procedures.
• Troubleshoot, lead projects and perform audits and vendor reviews as needed.
• Coordinate corrective actions and monitor vendor performance.
