Job summary

ChristianaCare is hiring a Full-time Specimen Processing Technician to work in the General Laboratory. The role operates the evening shift, 3:00pm–11:30pm, Monday through Friday, with every other weekend and 2–3 holidays per year.

Qualifications include an associate degree or higher in biology, chemistry or health science, or a high school diploma plus five years of specimen processing experience in a similar hospital system. Benefits and a comprehensive work environment are highlighted.

Qualifications

• Associate degree or higher in biology, chemistry or health science.
• Alternatively, a High School diploma with at least five years of specimen processing experience in a hospital system.

Responsibilities

• Process, sort, and deliver laboratory specimens and request slips.
• Print and affix identification labels to incoming patient specimens.
• Prioritize incoming work to meet stated turnaround times for stat testing.
• Communicate specimen priority to testing personnel upon delivery.
