Job summary

Riverview Health in Noblesville, IN seeks a Laboratory Assistant to support general laboratory services, greet patients, perform test order entry, and collect blood samples. The role includes off-site specimen transport requiring driving and a rotating weekend/holiday schedule.

You will ensure accurate LIS data and maintain supplies across facilities. The ideal candidate has a high school diploma with preferred phlebotomy certification or an associate degree in sciences and 1+ year of lab

Qualifications

Minimum: High School Diploma.
Preferred: Phlebotomy Certificate and/or Associates degree in sciences.
At least one year of full-time laboratory training or experience.

Responsibilities

Supports the hospital’s mission through customer-focused service.
Collects STAT, timed and routine venous/capillary blood specimens from various sources.
Instructs patients in proper collection and handling of non-blood specimens.
Generates and reviews collection lists and tracks pending specimens.
Must use personal vehicle or Riverview provided vehicle for off-site transport.
Performs all aspects of specimen processing and LIS data entry.
Reviews orders for completeness and verifies test requests.
Ensures compliance with Medicare rules and medical necessity criteria.
Operates safely with PPE and adheres to department policies.
