Job summary

UCI Health is seeking a skilled laboratory support member to join the Central Processing team at our Main Lab. You will handle specimen processing, accessioning, data entry, and routine reporting to support patient care across our academic health system.

The role requires accuracy, weekend and rotating shift availability, and strong communication skills. You will work with hospital information systems and collaborate with colleagues to maintain high-quality laboratory services.

Qualifications

• One year of applicable clinical lab work experience, or an equivalent combination of education and experience
• Experience with lab/hospital computer systems and software
• Excellent written and verbal communication skills in English
• Demonstrated experience using a computer, including data entry and retrieval
• Ability to work weekends, and rotating shifts including evenings, nights and holidays
• Ability to maintain a work pace appropriate to the workload
• Ability to establish and maintain effective working relationships across the organization

Responsibilities

• Process and accession specimens in the Main Lab central processing area
• Enter data into computer systems and handle telephone reception
• Transport specimens and print/deliver lab reports
• Review lab reports and perform quality review and troubleshooting
