Job summary

UCI Health in California seeks a limited appointment Clinical Laboratory Technician to perform specimen procurement, blood/blood component processing, and related transfusion medicine tasks per established protocols.

The role supports equipment maintenance, quality control, inventory, and all clerical functions including data entry, records, phone coverage and reporting results. One year of clinical lab experience and weekend/holiday availability are required.

Qualifications

• One year clinical laboratory experience or equivalent.
• Customer service skills appropriate to the job.
• Willingness to provide weekend and holiday coverage on a rotational basis.
• Good communication skills.
• Ability to maintain a work pace.
• Ability to establish & maintain effective working relationships across the Health System.

Responsibilities

• Procure and process specimens and blood components per protocol.
• Perform repetitive technical procedures and standardized tests.
• Assist in equipment maintenance, quality control, and inventory.
• Handle clerical tasks: data entry, records, phones, and reporting results.
