Job summary

UCI Health in Orange County seeks a Laboratory Support Specialist to perform specimen processing and accessioning in the Main Lab. You will handle computer data entry, telephone reception, transport specimens and print/deliver lab reports, while reviewing reports for accuracy and troubleshooting issues.

Responsibilities include maintaining a steady workflow, coordinating with clinical teams, and ensuring timely, precise reporting.

Qualifications

• One year of applicable clinical lab work experience or equivalent education/experience
• Excellent written and verbal communication skills in English
• Experience with lab/hospital computer systems and software
• Demonstrated ability with data entry and retrieval
• Ability to work weekends and rotating shifts including evenings, nights and holidays
• Ability to maintain a work pace appropriate to workload

Responsibilities

• Performs specimen processing and accessioning in the Main Lab
• Includes computer data entry, telephone reception, transporting specimens and printing/delivering lab reports
• Reviews lab reports and performs quality review and troubleshooting
