Job summary

University of Maryland Faculty Physicians is seeking a Patient Service Center Manager to support laboratory practice operations. This role reports to the Director, Laboratory Services and coordinates services to align clinical, business office, and administrative functions at the Patient Service Center.

The position requires a Bachelor's degree (or equivalent), a valid Phlebotomist certificate, and 2–3 years of supervisory experience, with practical phlebotomy and processing expertise.

Qualifications

• Bachelor degree or higher preferred or equivalent combination of education and experience.
• 2-3 years supervisory experience required.
• Phlebotomist certificate required.
• Phlebotomy and processing experience required.

Responsibilities

• Coordinates and integrates services within the department with other departments and with the System’s primary functions.
• Continuously assesses and improves the department’s performance and controls/assessment programs.
• Actively utilizes improvement strategies and tools to impact operations.
• Manages on-site activities to promote patient satisfaction and welfare.
• Ensures compliance with cash collections and reconciliation processes per FPI policies.
• Communicates operational issues to leadership for timely resolution.
• Establishes service recovery protocols; trains and empowers staff to address patient concerns and ensure issues are addressed.
