Job summary

Qualifications

• High school diploma or GED preferred.
• Completion of an accredited Phlebotomy program.
• 5 years of Phlebotomy experience.
• 2-3 years medical office experience.
• General understanding of basic accounting principles.
• PC proficiency.
• Strong customer service skills.
• Accurate data entry skills.
• Current knowledge of payer requirements for referrals and pre-authorization.
• Knowledge of computerized billing system.

Responsibilities

• Oversees daily operations of the draw site and inventory management.
• Trains new personnel and performs front desk and phlebotomy duties.
• Registers patient demographics and verifies insurance information.
• Schedule patient appointments and verify referrals and pre-authorizations.
• Collects phlebotomy specimens and performs quality checks on samples.
• Ensures accurate posting of payments and cash handling in the GE Front Desk Credit Card Module.
• Upholds policies and promotes courteous patient relations.
