Job summary

BayCare Health System in New Port Richey, FL is seeking a full-time Phlebotomist to collect and process specimens for testing in a受 outpatient and inpatient setting. You will communicate with nursing staff, refer specimens to partner labs when appropriate, and interact with physicians and staff regarding referrals.

Qualified candidates have at least 6 months of phlebotomy or related laboratory experience and a high school diploma or GED; a related Bachelor’s degree can substitute for experience.

Qualifications

• Must have 6 months phlebotomy or laboratory-related experience.
• Education: High School diploma or GED; or a related Bachelor’s degree in lieu of experience.

Responsibilities

• Collect inpatient and outpatient specimens for testing.
• Communicate with nursing regarding patient specimens.
• Refer specimens to outside laboratories when needed.
• Interact with physicians, clients and staff regarding referral lab tests.
• Perform phlebotomy procedures.
• Perform other duties as assigned.

Responsibilities:

• Collecting, receiving and processing of inpatient and outpatient specimens for testing
• Communications with nursing regarding patient specimens
• Referring specimens to outside laboratories
• Interaction with physicians, clients and staff regarding referral lab tests
• Performance of phlebotomy procedures
• Performs other duties as assigned

Experience:

• Required - 6 months Phlebotomy, Laboratory related; or related field

Education:

• Required High School or equivalent
• Or Bachelors related field in lieu of experience

Credentials:

• Driver's License

Credential equivalent experience:

• Preferred Phlebotomy
