Job summary

BayCare Health System in Tampa, FL is seeking a phlebotomist with pediatric experience or 1+ year of high-volume active draws. The role requires a calm demeanor and ability to handle difficult veins and infant collections.

Responsibilities include collecting and processing specimens, coordinating with nursing and physicians, and performing phlebotomy procedures. This PRN position offers flexible shifts, on-call duties, and opportunities to join a large, community-focused health system.

Qualifications

• Must have phlebotomy experience or related laboratory work.
• Pediatric experience or ability to collect from infants preferred.
• Experience with high-volume draws and difficult venipunctures is a plus.

Responsibilities

• Collect, receive and process inpatient and outpatient specimens for testing.
• Communicate with nursing regarding patient specimens.
• Refer specimens to outside laboratories as needed.
• Interact with physicians, clients and staff regarding referral lab tests.
• Perform phlebotomy procedures.
• Perform other duties as assigned.

Seeking a Tampa‑based phlebotomist with pediatric experience or 1+ year of high‑volume active draws (10+ sticks/day), confident with difficult veins and infant collections, and able to maintain a calm, steady demeanor. Facility: St Josephs Med Arts Building

Responsibilities

The Lab Medical Assistant II is responsible for:

• Collecting, receiving and processing of inpatient and outpatient specimens for testing

Experience

• Required
• 6 months Phlebotomy, Laboratory related; or related field

Education

• Required High School or equivalent
• Or Bachelors related field in lieu of experience

Credentials

• Driver's License
